Ho un master in Storia dell'Arte, ma ho sempre pensato che non si possa comprendere veramente qualcosa se non si è in grado di farla da sé. Ecco perché dipingo. O forse è il contrario e ho studiato arte proprio perché non ho memoria di me senza una matita o un pennello in mano. Amo tutta l'arte e ammiro quella contemporanea per l'acutezza di quell'idea che, a volte, sta alla base di una creazione. Ma a quest'arte biasimo la mancanza, sempre a volte, di manualità tecnica. Nella mia ricerca personale punto a unire queste due qualità imprescindibili: l'idea e la tecnica. E lungo questo percorso mi diverto a rielaborare con un sorriso le opere dei maestri per rendere la loro arte immortale ancora più attuale.
Lavoro anche su commissione. Di solito dipingo e disegno da fotografie, che preferisco scattare da me. Ad ogni modo, se non fosse possibile, potete mandarmi foto scattate da voi e io lavorerò a partire da quelle -a patto che la qualità e la composizione mi permettano di farlo. I have a Masters degree in Art History, but I always thought that you cannot truly understand something unless you are able to do it yourself. That's why I paint. Or maybe it's the opposite and I studied art because I have no memory of me without a pencil or brush in hand. I love art and I admire the contemporary one for that witty idea that -at times- is at the basis of a creation. But I blame this same art for the lack -at times- of techical skill. In my personal research I aim to combine these two essential qualities: idea and technique. Along this path I like to wink at the works of the masters in order to update their immortal art.
I also work on commission. Usually I paint and draw from photographs, which I prefer to take myself. However, if this isn't possible, you can send me your own pictures and I will work from those -as long as quality and composition allow me to do so. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
